We Encourage You To Make Sure You Try The Beverly…

My parents offered to watch the girls this past weekend. We scrambled out of the house so fast we left skid marks in the driveway. It had been a long time since the two of us had done anything together alone so we decided to do a mini-vacation in downtown Atlanta. After trying to decide which touristy thing to do in Atlanta, we settled on one we hadn’t done yet….

The Coca-Cola Museum is almost always where we take visitors when they come to Atlanta and want to see something uniquely Atlanta, but we hadn’t yet been to the new site. The new building is over by the Georgia Aquarium and is a little roomier and more free flowing. The old museum basically moved you from room to room until you got to that hallowed part of the building where you could drink all of the Coke products your stomach could hold. Bliss. We were amused that the staff and announcements now urge you to try out Beverly. It’s reputation proceeds itself.

We tried a couple different exotic beverages, but quickly parked ourselves over by the Cherry Coke. Adriene was, in a word, delighted.

For dinner we tried out a new restaurant near Adriene’s office called “Home.” It’s an upscale take on Southern cooking. I’ve never paid so much for shrimp n’ grits and steak n’ fries, but it was excellent and a fine way to wrap up a little vacation in our own home city.
