MusykLvr:

so, i asked my friend kurt if he would like to come and make the 2 hour drive to kent last night, to see over the rhine. "what kind of music do they play?" he asked. "i don't know...good music?" i responded. so, he said yes.

highlights of the evening:

meeting up with dm (irishcoyote) before the show for dinner.
attacking jg in the lobby of the kent stage...it's been FAR too long since i saw him!
seeing alyssa and heather, both from the days of bradys cafe. *sigh* i miss that place.
*etc whatever* -- god, i love the new rocking version all that i can see....
kim talking about getting stuck in the bathroom.
karin teasing rick about doing his own plumbing -- which apparently ended up with a lot of water all over the bathroom, so buy his cd so he can afford to pay for a professional.
brandon's new nickname is "bumblebee" because he killed a bumblebee in karin's dressing room.
karin had some sort of surgery, and she mentioned that her friend said that the anesthesia remains in your fat cells for a while. she said, "so, my butt is still numb!"
rick dropped his guitar during the intro to *firefly* (i think the guitar strap broke...)
rick's guitar solo on *my love is a fever* was kick @$$!

the crowd was very mellow, so, until the end, we were treated to a very mellow set. *drunkard's prayer*, *i want you to be my love*, *born*, and *spark* opened up things. karin performed *trouble*, which is SO good...and the encores included *ohio*, *firefly*, *my love is a fever* and *latter days*.

a very good show...mellow, but still good.

unfortunately, my friend ended up needing to go to the emergency room (he's ok...he was demonstrating symptoms of a stroke, but the doctor thinks it is due to migraines...they gave him meds and an iv and we were out in two hours), so we didn't leave ohio until 1:30. i got home at about twenty to 4, so i'm a tired kid this morning at work.

it's so worth it, though.

anyway, i was told that i need to be at the lime spider in two weeks...anyone else going to be there?

jubileeKK:

I don't post often, but read a lot....

I decided spontaneously to hop in the car and drive from Pittsburgh to Kent last night for my 20th show. It was worth it!

The self proclaimed "Casual Friday" was a beautiful evening of seeing the band's comfort with one another allowing the music to flow from them. There were definately some laughs!

I agree that the crowd was quiet, many seemed to be new or newer listeners.

Looking forward to the Taft!
