I’m usually not a big fan of these kind of things, but being tagged not once but twice means I really, really need to do it. Plus, caring for twin babies doesn’t really give me a whole lot of time to do any creative, deep writing, so cranking out a little meme will keep the blog juices flowing.

The Rules:
(1) Link to the person that tagged you.
(2) Post the rules on your blog.
(3) Share six non-important things/habits/quirks about yourself.
(4) Tag six random people at the end of your post by linking to their blogs.
(5) Let each random person know they have been tagged by leaving a comment on their website.

Six Non-important/habits/quirks about me.

1.) I eat my cereal dry.
I know. Why no milk? It’s healthy, gives you calcium, and without it the cereal is crunchy and dry. Well, that’s how I like it. I dunno, maybe when I was a kid I let my cereal go soggy one too many times and decided that was it, I was doing without the milk. Almost every morning, you’ll find me with a bowl of cereal for breakfast. With no milk. And yes, I still use a spoon. I don’t know why because I suppose I could just eat it with my hands.

2.) I am left-handed but do many things right handed.
I was one of those poor kids who wrote left-handed and smudged everything I wrote. Subsequently I always received poor grades in handwriting in grade school. It was a scarring experience. For whatever reason though, I do a lot of things right-handed such as brush my teeth, eat food, shoot pool and such. I play golf right-handed too, mostly because the first set of clubs that were given to me were right-handed, so I taught myself to swing right-handed. I can swing a baseball bat both left-handed and right-handed, though I’m probably better left-handed.

3.) I like to listen to music in chronological order.
This is a real weird one. Obviously, I’m a music snob like Lisa and <a ="http://stevewhite.blogspot.com/2008/02/ive-been-meme-ing-to-tell-you.html">Steve, but somewhere along the line I found that I really enjoy listening to a band or a genre with the albums in chronological order. The early albums set up the later albums and I can experience the development of artists’ sound start in it’s embryonic stage and flourish in their later days. It’s an illness now, if I listen to a band and songs are out of order (say, I hear “Even Better Than The Real Thing” by U2 followed by “Sunday, Bloody, Sunday”), it doesn’t feel right. iPods and iTunes playlists have only exacerbated this illness.

4.) I chew on my lip or tap my nose when thinking.
These nervous habits drive Adriene crazy. I don’t know why I do them, but I guess I feel like I have to do something outward to let people know the wheels are turning inside….

5.) I am a compulsive multi-tasker.
Most nights you will find me watching TV while fooling around on the laptop at the same time and I can usually tell you what’s going on with both the TV and laptop with no problem. For whatever reason, I have to have multiple irons on the fire, or I feel like I’m not utilizing my time efficiently. This is why I usually have 5-10 open applications on my laptop at any time. It drives me nuts when one program hogs up all the system resources and brings everything to a stop and makes me wait.

6.) I have an obsession with maps.
This one goes back to early childhood. I’ve always loved maps. I’ve loved exploring places all over the world. I like traveling a little, but I don’t really enjoy being on the road all the time. Hence, there are probably a lot of places in this world I will never see and looking at them on a map or looking at photos might be the closest I get. Google Earth, like iTunes mentioned above, is another terrible technology that has facilitated another one of my neuroses.

So there we go, and now to tag six people. Let’s see…

Geof Morris
Chris Hubbs
My lovely wife.
Chuck Pearson
Scott
You, dear reader.
