Jason Neely:
Safe as .... It was a great show tonight @ Uncle Pleasant's.
There were problems during the soundcheck, and that bug jumped
out once during JINO, but aside from that the sound was as good
as I had anticipated. The Setlist:

Spinning
Bothered
Cruel & Pretty
Show Me
Jesus in N'awlins
She
Nobody #1
Suitcase
Lifelong Fling -->
Ain't No Sunshine
Ohio
B.P.D.
All I Need Is Everything
The World  Can Wait
When I Go
  ~~~
Long Lost Brother
Changes Come
Notes:  After BPD, Karin said in the old days that's what they
used to call a "Hissy Fit" so we could go ahead and scold her
for it.  I was at the Lexington show about a month ago and the
biggest change to the band is Paul's playing.  I didn't want to
rag on his early Pedal Steel work, but he has really become
comfortable on it and it sounds like it should now.  But I'm
thinking specifically about Jesus in N.O. which they didn't play
in Lexington.  Also, TWCW wasn't the Tour De Stortion that it
was - he's tamed the beast.  I really wish I had a recording of
that Lexington show as the solo was more raw and gritty, but hey
- - there's nothing wrong with a polished performance.  If anyone
can tell me what that thing is he's playing during Nobody #1 I'd
like to know.  One impression I had was during When I Go, his
solo could have come right off a Procol Harem studio outtake.
Well, that's about all I got and now it's sleepytime.  Good
night alll
Bill Ivester:
This is a very small little club in Louisville, this was my first time there and I was
pretty happy with it all in all. I worked the merch table (business was brisk) and had a
blast (and also got to be in the club for soundcheck which was pretty sweet), and also
got to meet some very nice people including Zayne who stopped by to say hello. There was
a nice crowd, the promoter said in the 200 range and the place was full. The set was
great a few minor audio/sound glitches but a great show nonetheless.
Changes Come
Lifelong, C&P, N#1, Spinning/Bothered, B.P.D., Long Lost Brother, Changes Come continue
to blow me away. The band, while great in the earlier shows seems to be very relaxed,
comfortable and are sounding excellent. The crowd was pretty quiet and respectful (for
a “bar”) and really seemed to be into what they were doing and enjoying the music.
Again, based on the traffic and conversation at the merch table after the show, I
would have to say there were quite a few new converts after the show. After the show
K&L were there usual gracious hosts, talking to and signing for everyone who waited
and once again amaze me with how thankful, surprised and appreciative they are
everytime we show up. BTW, the “Lifelong Fling/Ain’t No Sunshine When He’s Gone”
dedication in which Karin said many, many sweet things about me, then said that’s
him sellin’ our stuff back there, just blew me away. As I told her after the show,
not expected but greatly appreciated. All I can say is, if they are anywhere close
to you, GO!
