it was a sweet, sweet show, i love that little theatre. plus i used to live about 5 miles from there (in grant park) and have great memories of the little five points area, i always love visiting there whenever i get the chance.
the show wasn't quite sold out but it was very close, there was only a handful of the 425+ seats left by the time OtR took the stage.
great setlist, a little bit different that the pre-"ohio show" shows, "motherless child" just keeps getting more and more beautiful, she making it her own more and more every night. it was nice to see "pro daydreamer," "B.P.D." and "cruel & pretty" stay in. and the jake and mickey solos have returned to "kiddin,'" and they seemed to enjoy having them back.
they were having a great time playing, lots of smiles all around + a nice little story and hymnal recitation from linford. the crowd was great, quiet, respectful and just playful enough to crack karin up a couple of times and the sound in this room is amazing and juicy had it dialed in perfectly and turned up to eleven.
damn near a perfect saturday night back in my old hometown, hotlanta, those allman boys named it right...
oh, and as always, mary gauthier delivered a killer opening set. i got
to talk to her quite a bit before the show and just love her attitude (mg
- "my job on it's worst day is better than any other job in the world on
it's best day") she has a great sense of humor about herself and her music.
her story about her first "co-writing" experience was a gem. glad she decided
not to throw herself of that third floor window...
