The Continued Incoherent Ramblings of a Twentysomething
Yes, I am one of those people with an unhealthy addiction to Starbucks coffee. A couple of years ago, I was looking for a new credit card, one that would get me some rewards. I stumbled upon the Starbucks Duetto credit card, and I was sold. It gives me a portion of every purchase in Starbucks money, so I haven’t actually had to pay for coffee in about a year and a half.
A couple of weeks ago, I got an e-mail from them saying that due to a computer error, the balance of Starbucks money on my card was accidentally wiped out, but not to worry, they were fixing the issue. A day later, I got another e-mail saying the money had been returned to my account, and apologized for the inconvenience. (It really wasn’t an inconvenience, because I hadn’t been out to get coffee that day, so I never would have noticed if they hadn’t e-mailed me about it). I thought it was nice of them to let me know, though, and just kind of pushed the whole issue out of my mind.
Yesterday afternoon, I went to get our mail, and I noticed a box in our mailbox from Starbucks. A big box. I was a bit confused, so I opened it once I got inside. Y’all, it was a whole big bag of Starbucks coffee, along with a note apologizing for the whole snafu with wiping my balance out. How cool is that?
One more reason why I love Starbucks. ![]()
So, it looks like I’ve got just under 9 weeks until the Peachtree. And I am nowhere near in shape for a 10K.
Perhaps I ought to get on that.
