First Lines.
Blatantly stealing an idea from Carla.
I’ve got my iPod on shuffle, and I’ve listed the first lines of the first 25 songs that pop up. Your job is to guess what song it is! I’ll cross the songs off as people guess the right ones.
1. He said I’m gong to buy this place and burn it down, I’m going to put it six feet underground…2. If only I knew what I know, I’d make it a point to say so…
3. There’s air in my bones where marrow should be…
4. Well, it’s been building up inside of me for oh, I don’t know how long…
5. The crowds roll by, and I’m falling in…
6. Six o’clock in the morning, you’re the last to hear the warning…7. I want to see what people saw, I want to feel like I felt before…
8. Hello, I’ve waited here for you…
9. When I go, don’t cry for me, in my Father’s arms I’ll be…
10. I’ve been up and down the floor, sleep won’t hold me anymore…
11. In the distance, she saw me comin’ round…
12. Who made up all the rules? We follow them like fools…
13. The time to rise has been engaged, we’re better best to rearrange…14. Ten fingers counting, we have each nine planets…
15. He woke and knew that he was dying, he spoke and found that he was flying…
16. This could be the very minute I’m aware I’m alive…
17. You consider me the young apprentice…
18. Don’t believe what you hear, don’t believe what you see, if you just close your eyes, you can feel the enemy…
19. Oh it’s opening time down on Fascination Street, so let’s cut the conversation and get out for a bit…
20. Occurred to me the other day, you’ve been gone now a couple years…
21. People I know, places I go, make me feel tongue-tied…
22. There’s still a little bit of your taste in my mouth…
23. Four times he came by, I did not look…
24. I don’t know what you’re looking for, but you haven’t found it baby, that’s for sure…

Happy guessing!!

I googled it just because you were so passionate about someone getting it.

Saw the link in Jeff’s blog and figured I’d stop by and play…
11. U2, “Trip Through You Wires”
17. The Police, “Wrapped Around Your Finger”
19. The Cure, “Fascination Street” (”Thank you Robert Smith of the Cure! Disintegration is the Best Album Ever!”)
(If I’d only been the first to “Finest Worksong,” I’d have quite the 80s alternative list there.
