The Continued Incoherent Ramblings of a Twentysomething
Please quit taunting me and tell me who is opening for you in Atlanta November 19.
And please let it be someone who doesn’t suck.
Kisses,
Adriene
So, I read today that Nicholas Cage had a son over the weekend.
His name? Kal-el Coppola Cage.
That’s right, folks. Kid’s named after a Superman character.
I think naming your kid something asinine has become something of a trend in the celebrity world. In the past few years, we have welcomed:
- Coco Arquette
- Hazel and Phinnaeus (Roberts) Moder
- Apple (Paltrow) Martin (though, secretly, I kind of like that one…)
- Audio Science Clayton (son of Shannon Sossamon of A Knight’s Tale)
- Speck Wildhorse Mellencamp (qwa?)
- Elijah Bob Guggi Q Hewson (though I can sadly tell you where every part of that name came from, given that I’m a stupidly-rabid U2 fan…)
… and don’t even get me started on Paula Yates (I try not to speak ill of the dead).
There’s just something kind of satisfying about the beginning of October. I guess it’s because I consider it the “unofficial” beginning of fall (nevermind that it’s still a balmy 78 degrees here in Atlanta…).
Fall’s probably one of my favorite times of year - I love the cooler days, the changing of the leaves, and the food that it brings. In fact, today I indulged in making pumpkin-cranberry scones.
I’ll be mailing these to a friend as part of a baking circle that we’ve started on the .net. I also set out my fall placemats, bowls, and candles today and did a little cleaning while I was at it.
Here’s hoping the weather cooperates soon and starts feeling more like fall. ![]()
