I have a blog?

Posted in I Suck at 7:21 pm by Adriene

Okay, okay.

I know everyone’s life has been utterly meaningless the past few weeks as I have been rather sparse in updating my blog. I have no excuse other than I’m lazy.

That and they moved me closer to my boss at work so she can see what I’m doing on my computer a little easier. :)

So, I have no large amounts of wisdom to bestow upon you poor creatures as of late.

Though I do have a new song to recommend. :) I’ve been getting lots of mileage out of The Police’s “King of Pain” of late. It’s just one of those songs I always loved hearing on the radio, but never went out and bought. But, thanks to the wonders of iTunes, I can now listen to it to my heart’s content. :)

So yeah, that’s all I have to say right now. Go back to whatever it was you were doing.

Nice perfume. Must you marinate in it?

Posted in Rants at 10:06 am by Adriene

Why is it that some women insist on wearing so much perfume, to the point where being in the mere vicinity of them brings tears to your eyes?

There’s a certain lady here at work, who is a serial offender of this basic unspoken social law. She’s an otherwise lovely woman, yet as I am writing this she is standing four rows away from my desk. And I can still smell her perfume.

And it isn’t even a nice-smelling perfume.

So, write this down, ladies. Add it to my “just because they make it in your size, it doesn’t mean you should wear it” rule. If I can smell your pefume more than two feet away from you, you’re wearing too much. Take it off, hon.

What are you known for?

Posted in Ponderings at 10:06 pm by Adriene

A thread on the .net got me thinking today. The question that was posed was “What are you known for?” Basically, what is it that you “do” that makes someone go “Hey, that’s the person who does that!”

So I got to thinking. What am I known for? I know what I’d like to be known for, but what exactly is it that people immediately associate with me?

So, here are a few things that I think people think of when they think of me. Feel free to add or suggest I remove something ;).

1. U2 (duh)
2. Coffee
3. High heels
4. Bluntness
5. Driving “assertively” (or maniacally, as Jeff would say)
6. Looney Tunes cartoons
7. Cooking
8. Cats (is it a coincidence that EVERY SINGLE birthday card I got this year had a cat on it? ;))
9. Shopping
10. Crafts

I’m sure there are more. What do you guys think?
