It’s the most wonderful time of the year…
….well, not quite.
But you wouldn’t know that walking through the local department stores around here. They’ve been decorated like Christmas with a vengeance since a week before Halloween.
Now, call me old-fashioned, but I still stick to the thought that Christmas decorations do not belong out of their boxes between January 5 and the day after Thanksgiving. I love Christmas, but I think the commercial push to get the stores decorated like a Winter Wonderland earlier and earlier every year cheapens it somehow.
Pretty soon you’ll start seeing Christmas decorations up in June. Oh well.

My next door neighbor has their deck decorated - a tacky concept in and of itself, but especially when you consider they tacked up the gaudy red bows on November 1.

Yeah…it’s driving me nuts.
I know some people are so lazy that they leave their lights up all year long. What the crap?!
Day after Thanksgiving through January 5th, people.
